Overview
This senior leadership role directs and oversees the Core Trade Desk Middle Office team across UK and European markets. The position centers around managing client transactional inquiries and leading proactive commercial outreach to drive credit utilization, sales growth, and revenue retention. The SVP leads a regional team including AVPs and VPs, focusing on client service and middle office integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a regional team of Client Service Managers and Middle Office professionals, enhancing trade knowledge and fostering a high-performance environment.
- Strategically allocate resources across client segments including Trade 500, Priority Growth, and Long Tail portfolios.
- Ensure superior client transactional inquiry management with adherence to service level agreements and fast resolution of complex cases related to Import/Export Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, and Guarantees.
- Serve as the senior escalation authority for critical client issues in the trade product suite.
- Drive innovation in processes to boost operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Design and implement client outreach programs to maximize credit line and facility utilization while collaborating with Sales and Product teams for deal facilitation and wallet expansion.
- Mitigate revenue attrition through targeted engagement and rigorous monitoring frameworks.
- Oversee trade deal execution ensuring accurate pricing and efficient transaction closure using tools such as Instaquote.
- Utilize data analytics and internal dashboards to guide strategic regional decisions and foster programmatic client coverage based on segmentation.
- Proactively anticipate market trends, regulatory changes, and client needs to innovate service delivery models.
- Maintain effective communication with internal senior stakeholders and external client executives, representing the middle office in leadership forums and ensuring cross-functional alignment in client lifecycle management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience in trade finance, middle office operations, or client relationship management at a senior level within a global financial institution.
- Comprehensive expertise in Trade Finance and Documentary Trade products (LCs, SBLCs, Guarantees), with a holistic understanding of import/export transaction processes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a proven ability to influence senior leadership.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills with history of managing diverse, high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic and analytical capability to interpret complex data and develop regional strategies.
- Collaborative and innovative approach within dynamic environments.
- Preferred: Experience managing diverse regional client portfolios across the UK and Europe, familiarity with Citi's trade tools including Instaquote and Banker Direct Access, and expertise in client segmentation and revenue retention strategies.
