About the Role
Join a dedicated and enthusiastic postal team within the medical transport services, operating under a well-established NHS organization with over 30 years of service excellence. This role focuses on managing mail received from general practitioners and hospitals, ensuring efficient sorting and delivery to surgical locations during the morning hours, while coordinating outgoing post franking in the afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
- Sorting and organizing incoming mail from GPs and hospitals into designated pigeonholes.
- Preparing and packaging mail bags for delivery to surgeries each morning.
- Operating a franking machine independently with a high level of proficiency.
- Reporting any issues promptly to the Head of Dorset Post.
- Performing daily checks and reporting defects of the post room vehicle.
- Driving the post room vehicle within Dorset Health Care area when requested.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the post room and office areas daily.
- Accurately completing and submitting journey records as required.
- Adhering to Road Traffic regulations to maintain driving compliance.
- Supporting equality and diversity principles within the workplace.
- Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Head of Dorset Post.
