Role Overview
This is an interim opening for a Medical Scientific Liaison focused on rare diseases and liver, covering the Northern Germany territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain relationships with national and regional key opinion leaders in a way that aligns with Medical Affairs priorities and broader company strategy.
- Facilitate compliant scientific discussion and education on current and emerging therapies through advisory boards, one-to-one interactions, and congress participation.
- Maintain strong expertise in the clinical, scientific, and therapeutic landscape of rare diseases.
- Represent the organization at continuing medical education activities, medical conferences, scientific meetings, and related programs.
- Collaborate with clinical development to identify and engage suitable trial sites and to recognize disease concepts that may support product differentiation.
- Strengthen the company’s position as a trusted scientific partner through coordinated initiatives, strategic alignment, and clear scientific communication.
- Provide scientific, clinical, and educational assistance to internal stakeholders, including fellow MSL colleagues and cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to medical publication activities when required, including abstracts and manuscripts.
- Support commercial teams through speaker and representative training activities.
- Take part in or lead special projects as needed.
- Work across functions to keep operations patient-centered and respond quickly to internal and external medical questions or case discussions.
Required Qualifications
- An advanced scientific, healthcare, or medical qualification such as PharmD, PhD, or MD is mandatory.
- Background in medical or paramedical practice or research, including hospital-based work, university research, pharmaceutical research, or medical affairs.
- At least 2 years of experience in an MSL role or a closely related position, with a proven record in a previous organization.
- Experience delivering scientific presentations and building relationships with national and international thought leaders.
- Prior experience in rare diseases or liver therapy areas is considered an advantage.
- Strong ability to interpret, summarize, and communicate medical information clearly.
- Knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Team-oriented mindset with a practical, solution-focused approach and strong communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel 60% to 80% depending on the size of the territory.
- Professional fluency in both German and English.
