Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical record requests ensuring adherence to mandated turnaround times.
- Handle payer communications by sorting, routing, and responding promptly to urgent inquiries.
- Support billing tasks including processing refunds, reconsideration requests, and manual claims activities.
- Assist with preparation for audits by retrieving and organizing required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to enhance medical records and billing procedures.
- Identify recurring problems and inefficiencies, proposing process improvements to increase operational effectiveness.
- Provide additional support in billing functions as business needs evolve.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in medical records, billing, coding, or allied areas is advantageous.
- Preferably 1-2+ years experience in healthcare administration, especially medical records, billing, or revenue operations roles.
- Knowledge of payer procedures, medical billing terms, and claims processing, including familiarity with 837 claims, is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Exceptional attention to detail, capable of handling large volumes of work under deadlines independently.
- Comfortable working remotely with limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify operational challenges, suggest improvements, and adapt to shifting priorities.
