Role Overview
The Mass Inventory Analyst will oversee forecasting, inventory planning, replenishment analysis, and performance reporting for major mass retail customers, with a strong focus on Walmart and Target. The role works closely with Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and retailer inventory teams to keep forecasts accurate, inventory moving properly, and business reporting actionable.
Core Responsibilities
- Work with Walmart and Target planning teams to build forecast plans.
- Maintain internal forecasts for Walmart and Target at both item and total business levels, making sure they match retailer account strategies and stay accurate.
- Act as the main contact for Walmart and Target inventory analysts and replenishment managers.
- Build and maintain ladder plans for Walmart and Target so inventory flows correctly and purchase orders are created on time.
- Share forecasting and inventory reporting with the Purchasing team to support domestic inventory planning.
- Partner with GFE on import purchase orders, forecast adjustments, and factory status updates.
- Review Walmart Connect and Roundel campaign results to inform future marketing spending and business choices.
- Analyze promotional results and suggest improvements to strengthen performance.
- Pull together POS data from e-commerce and retail channels to spot trends and identify opportunities for new listings and broader assortment.
- Create ad hoc reports, insights, and recommendations to help meet business goals and changing priorities.
Additional Responsibilities
As training progresses and systems knowledge grows, the role may also include item setup support during busy quoting and planning periods, along with ad hoc Circana reporting.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
- Prior exposure to inventory planning, forecasting, analytics, supply chain, sales support, or a similar area is preferred.
- You should bring strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data are important.
- The role calls for someone who can balance several projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong organization and a careful eye for detail are needed.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills are essential.
- Experience with retail customers, inventory systems, or reporting platforms is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to improve analysis, reporting, and productivity is considered a plus.
