Job description
About the Role
This is a strong opportunity for a motivated marketing professional to progress their career within a well-known arts charity, membership body, and awards institution. BAFTA supports excellence across film, games, and television, while also backing the people who make those industries and helping reduce barriers to opportunity across the screen sector.
Alongside its high-profile Awards, BAFTA runs learning programmes and wider year-round activity that help emerging and established talent develop, with the aim of building a more inclusive and sustainable industry.
Marketing sits at the centre of this mission. The role will help shape fresh and engaging ways to tell BAFTA’s story to audiences in the UK and internationally, including both public and industry groups. Through effective marketing, BAFTA can expand the reach of its work, build meaningful audience relationships, and support brand partnerships that bring in vital backing for a not-for-profit organisation.
As Marketing Officer, you will contribute directly to this impact by delivering insight-led and creative campaigns across BAFTA’s Awards, programmes, and platforms. The role calls for someone who is self-motivated, confident taking initiative, and comfortable leading work from planning through to delivery and review, while working closely with senior colleagues, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver marketing campaigns that support BAFTA’s Awards, programmes, and digital platforms.
- Create audience-focused activity that strengthens BAFTA’s profile among public and industry communities in the UK and abroad.
- Use audience insight to shape campaigns that are creative, relevant, and effective.
- Work independently to identify opportunities, manage priorities, and push projects from concept to execution and evaluation.
- Collaborate with senior team members, external agencies, and internal stakeholders to deliver campaign objectives.
- Support marketing activity across paid and organic digital channels.
- Use data and performance insight to help assess campaign impact and inform future activity.
- Maintain strong attention to detail while delivering work within budget and on schedule.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working within a marketing team to deliver strategic brand campaigns.
- Practical knowledge of digital marketing across both paid and organic channels.
- Confident use of marketing tools and systems, including CRM platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems such as WordPress, Mailchimp, and GA4.
- Working knowledge of HTML would be an advantage.
- Ability to work proactively, prioritise independently, and deliver to budget and deadlines.
- Resilient, flexible, and able to adapt to changing needs.
- Creative thinking with a strong eye for detail.
Perks and Benefits
- Annual salary of £33,600.
- 29 days of holiday each year, plus bank holidays.
- 8% contributory pension scheme.
- Employee health cash-back plan.
- Long-term sickness insurance.
- Life assurance worth four times basic annual salary.
- Employee Assistance Programme with round-the-clock confidential access to counselling, wellbeing support, and independent legal and financial advice.
- Cycle to Work Scheme and season ticket loan.
- Access to cinemas across the UK and to BAFTA events.
