Role overview
Square is seeking a Sales Manager to guide a team of Account Executives and deliver growth against individual, team, and business targets. This is a people leadership role for someone with a strong sales background who can build a remote team that performs consistently and delivers strong outcomes for both merchants and the business.
The role calls for a leader who uses performance data to coach team members, improve execution, and create a culture centered on ownership, accountability, and strong results.
What you will do
- Foster a team environment built on trust, responsibility, achievement, and enjoyment, where open communication and constructive challenge are encouraged.
- Join client and prospect discussions to support the AEs you manage.
- Hire, onboard, and train new Account Executives on the sales approach and operating process.
- Drive disciplined sales execution and monitor key metrics such as hourly and daily activity, forecasting, and pipeline health.
- Establish consistent funnel practices and scalable team-wide sales methods.
- Run weekly pipeline reviews and forecast conversations with the account executive team.
- Coach direct reports on ways to grow revenue and improve customer outcomes.
- Refine sales strategy, process, and tactics to lift team performance.
- Bring customer feedback back into the product and business conversation.
- Develop new ideas and turn them into practical improvements.
What you need
- At least 3 years of experience managing sales teams.
- At least 3 years of proven individual sales success, including consistently exceeding targets.
- Background in hiring, training, and ramping up new Account Executives.
- Demonstrated ability to work across teams and influence change.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a genuine interest in helping others succeed.
- Experience building structure around sales metrics and holding yourself and others accountable to them.
- Ability to think through both immediate and downstream impacts when making decisions.
Compensation and pay transparency
This role follows a market-based compensation model, so pay can differ by location, experience, and other job-related factors. For U.S. locations, the listed annual starting salary range is:
- Zone A: USD 198,000 to 272,300
- Zone B: USD 184,200 to 253,200
- Zone C: USD 174,200 to 239,600
- Zone D: USD 164,300 to 225,900
For Canada locations, the listed annual starting salary range is CAD 135,377 to 203,136 for both Zone A and Zone B. Final compensation is determined by role-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions. The company notes that pay ranges may be updated over time.
