Manager / Senior Manager, Strategy at Smart Nation Group - Digital Government (SNDG)

About the Role

The Smart Nation Group - Digital Government (SNDG), operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) in Singapore, leads the government's digital transformation efforts. The group focuses on formulating and executing policies and strategies aimed at realizing a Digital Government that prioritizes core digital capabilities, innovation, and user-centric, secure, and resilient digital services across public sector agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce policies to improve digital product development within government bodies.
• Create frameworks that ensure responsible adoption of technology and manage risks arising from digitalisation initiatives.
• Monitor emerging tech trends and analyze their implications on policy formulation.
• Support the execution of the Digital Government Blueprint and assist ministries in their digital transformation plans.
• Help design and engage in strategic and work planning cycles within SNDG.
• Collaborate with other central government agencies to facilitate Public Sector Transformation.
• Identify and leverage cross-agency opportunities and establish central digitalisation enablers.
• Engage widely with internal and external stakeholders to support digital efforts.
• Develop and implement processes that promote digitalisation planning and monitor progress across ministries.
• Enhance analytics capabilities within SNDG to evaluate digital transformation outcomes effectively.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in technology policy, public policy, strategic planning, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical abilities coupled with critical thinking and exceptional writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills suitable for stakeholder engagement at various levels.
• Competency in presenting recommendations persuasively to senior management.
• Awareness of technological trends and their societal as well as regulatory consequences.
• Previous experience with product management or digital product development is considered an advantage.
