Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to contribute to several pivotal digital licensing projects within a large, multifaceted Queensland public sector ICT setting. The successful candidate will take the lead in analyzing and documenting both current and prospective business processes and requirements, ensuring the delivery of integrated and impactful digital solutions. This opportunity involves close collaboration with Product Owners, experts in the field, senior stakeholders, and implementation teams.
Contract Details
- Initial contract term of 12 months with a possibility to extend
- Work location primarily in Brisbane's inner city with the flexibility of 2 days remote work per week
- Occasional travel to additional work sites may be necessary
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and execute business analysis activities in complex ICT projects
- Organize and facilitate workshops and consultations with stakeholders to gather requirements
- Create and maintain documentation covering business, functional, and system requirements
- Develop models depicting current and future business processes
- Use methodologies such as BPMN, UML, or use case modelling to represent business processes and systems
- Advise on appropriate techniques and methodologies related to business analysis
- Collaborate effectively within an Agile project delivery environment
- Establish and nurture productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in planning and reviewing existing manual processes and systems
Candidate Profile
- Over five years of pertinent experience as a Business Analyst
- Proven leadership in business analysis activities on large-scale and complex ICT projects
- Strong background in digital transformation and systems implementation initiatives
- Excellent skills in workshop facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement
- Proficient in business process and system modelling techniques
- Familiarity with BABOK-aligned business analysis standards and practices
- Experience working within Agile teams, utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in projects influenced by legislation, policy, licensing, or regulatory frameworks is a strong advantage
