Role overview
Tesla is hiring an experienced and driven Manager to oversee service operations for the Tesla Semi program in Houston, Texas. The role focuses on making sure local teams are able to support large-scale Semi truck deliveries and day-to-day operations efficiently. Success in this position depends on strong collaboration, a willingness to learn, and the ability to improve processes, strengthen the customer experience, and create more value for commercial fleet customers.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver a service experience that consistently meets or exceeds commercial customer expectations while monitoring service patterns and improving the overall experience for the industry.
- Gather customer feedback and escalate it internally to help improve systems and processes.
- Coach team members on technical skills, professional development, and career progression.
- Work closely with Engineering to support the creation and refinement of diagnostic tools and systems.
- Communicate business goals clearly, set expectations, own site performance, and drive the team toward target achievement and accountability.
- Measure, track, and improve key performance indicators for the team.
- Build resource plans and scheduling coverage for the market to support 24/7 operations.
- Strengthen and expand standard operating procedures to support reliable, scalable growth.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, excellent interpersonal communication, and the confidence to work effectively with people at every level both inside and outside the organization. Experience leading field, technical repair, or manufacturing teams in a fast-moving, technology-focused environment with substantial customer-facing responsibility is important. The role also requires the ability to build cooperative relationships across the program and contribute to an ongoing design-and-improvement cycle.
Requirements and qualifications
- Leadership experience in a service-oriented environment is preferred.
- Automotive experience is required.
- A valid driver’s license is mandatory, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL.
- Willingness to travel to Tesla and customer locations up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to work any shift as needed.
