Role Summary
We are seeking a strategic and proactive People & Culture Manager to become our inaugural in-country leader for Europe, based in the UK. This role works closely with the UK General Manager, local leadership, and our global People & Culture team headquartered in the US. As we expand throughout the UK and Europe, you will establish a strong local People & Culture foundation by crafting tailored strategies, programs, and workforce plans that respond to immediate and long-term growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable people practices compliant with both UK and European laws as well as Vuori's global model.
- Act as the primary liaison between the UK team and the global People & Culture division ensuring strategic alignment and communication.
- Collaborate with global centers of excellence to co-develop programs supporting sustainable growth in retail and corporate areas.
- Lead workforce planning and organizational design to facilitate regional expansion and talent optimization.
- Provide insights into market trends, risks, and prospects influencing global people initiatives and organizational decisions.
- Manage employee relations issues with impartiality and care, including conflict resolution and complex investigations.
- Work alongside Legal and Compliance teams to create local policies consistent with European labor law and company standards.
- Offer timely People & Culture guidance addressing employee queries.
- Maintain expert knowledge of European and UK employment legislation.
- Deliver customized training programs in partnership with Learning & Development teams, covering topics such as performance management, coaching, and leadership development.
- Advise and coach leaders and employees at all levels to enhance performance, leadership, team dynamics, and communication.
- Partner with store leadership to assess capability gaps, staffing demands, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Create regional engagement plans drawing on employee feedback to strengthen connection and alignment with Vuori’s purpose.
- Lead company-wide initiatives that promote Vuori’s values across retail and office teams.
- Collaborate closely with Hiring Managers and the Global Talent Acquisition team to build a reliable hiring pipeline for headquarters and retail leadership roles while developing localized hiring processes.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for designated roles including candidate sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Support local benefit and leave processes, including parental leave and health & safety accommodations.
- Maintain and follow up on leave requests with internal and external partners, including return-to-work planning.
- Coordinate payroll activities with internal and external teams ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Manage employee records, reporting, and documentation for audits and operational planning.
- Serve as main point of contact for external People & Culture service providers in the UK.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 7 years of progressive experience as a People & Culture Business Partner with strong skills in employee relations and talent management.
- Experience in both retail and corporate environments, preferably with international or expanding brands.
- Comprehensive understanding of UK and European labor laws, cultural differences, and market landscapes.
- Strong facilitation and training delivery capabilities.
- Demonstrated achievement in establishing People & Culture functions or new programs.
- Expertise in strategic partnership, business advisory, and influencing senior leadership.
- Excellent communication skills within complex global matrix environments.
- Experience supporting multi-location teams in fast-paced settings.
- Proven ability to adapt global P&C initiatives for local markets.
- Ability to balance strategic foresight with effective operational execution.
- High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and integrity.
- Skilled coach for leaders at various levels including store managers and senior management.
