About the Role
The Wickaninnish Inn is a family-run Relais & Châteaux property on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in Tofino, British Columbia. As a Maintenance Technician, you will support the upkeep of guestrooms, public areas, interiors, exteriors, landscaping, and equipment. The role involves a mix of hands-on maintenance work, guest interaction, outdoor tasks, and physically demanding duties that may be required at short notice and in varying weather conditions.
What You Will Do
- Deliver attentive, personalized guest service that meets or exceeds Relais & Châteaux, Forbes, and AAA 4 & 5 Diamond expectations.
- Carry out the Inn’s service values and uphold its hospitality standards.
- Help maintain guestrooms and public spaces on a daily basis.
- Perform groundskeeping and landscaping tasks.
- Take on project-based work such as painting, carpentry, and equipment servicing.
- Support both interior and exterior building maintenance.
- Contribute to a scheduled preventative maintenance program.
- Assist with equipment upkeep, including the bicycle fleet.
- Restore and repair furniture as needed.
- Work outdoors for a range of maintenance assignments.
What We’re Looking For

- The physical ability to handle demanding tasks, including lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.

- Interest in gardening, landscaping, and preventive maintenance work.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Previous experience in maintenance and housekeeping is an advantage.
- Eligibility for a BC Class 5 driver’s licence, along with at least two years of clean driving history in your home country.
- Ability to commit to the role for a mutually agreed period of time.

Compensation
The pay rate for this role is $21.00 per hour.
