Built around sustainability and deep respect for nature and local culture, the Inn operates as a community asset owned by the charity Shorefast. All operating surplus is reinvested into Shorefast’s work to help build a resilient future for Fogo Island.

Shorefast’s broader mission is to develop, learn from, and share economic development approaches that strengthen the assets of local places, beginning with Fogo Island.

Role Overview

The Car Detailer is responsible for helping create a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for guests and team members. This role is best suited to someone who takes pride in cleanliness, notices details, works well on their own, and also collaborates effectively with others.

Key Duties

• Clean all Inn vehicles thoroughly inside and out, and refuel them as needed.
• Record vehicle information on the provided sheets and forms, including tracking when maintenance such as oil changes may be due.
• Check vehicles in and out for use by Guest Services.
• Support other tasks when the team is less busy, such as moving or shuttling vehicles to other areas as requested.
• Keep vehicle-cleaning supplies stocked and organized.

Qualifications and Experience

• A valid Canadian driver’s licence is required.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities are important.
• A genuine interest in social enterprise and a desire to contribute positively to people and the community are valued.
