About the role

Edmund Hillary Retirement Village in Remuera, Auckland is looking for a Maintenance Person to join its established team. This is a permanent full-time position with fixed weekday hours, running Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

What the role involves

  • Helping deliver day-to-day and preventive maintenance across the village so buildings, equipment, facilities, and outdoor areas remain safe, functional, and presentable.
  • Assisting residents with repair and upkeep needs in their homes.
  • Following health and safety procedures carefully to protect residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and backing the wider team where needed.

What you should bring

  • Experience in maintenance work, a relevant trade qualification, or a recently completed apprenticeship.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, careful attention to detail, and a practical, positive approach.
  • Customer service ability and the confidence to build good relationships with residents.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A dependable, approachable, and professional manner.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold the legal right to work in New Zealand. While applications from overseas candidates are sometimes considered, this role requires New Zealand work rights because of immigration requirements.
