Role overview
Ryman Healthcare is looking for an Activity and Lifestyle Coordinator to join the team at Possum Bourne Retirement Village in Pukekohe, Auckland. The role is focused on creating memorable experiences, bringing energy and creativity to daily life, and helping strengthen connections across the community.
This is a full-time onsite position based mainly in the care centre, where residents require hospital-level support. The work centres on planning and delivering engaging activities that improve wellbeing and quality of life in a clinical setting.
Working hours for this position are Sunday 10:00 to 16:00, and Monday to Thursday 09:30 to 16:30.
A full driver licence is preferred, along with confidence in driving a manual van.
Key duties
- Design and run activities suited to residents receiving hospital-level care.
- Provide individual and small-group sessions for residents with different physical and cognitive abilities.
- Support residents with higher care needs, including people living with dementia.
- Work alongside the clinical team to help deliver personalised care plans.
About you
- Prior experience in aged care, healthcare, or a care-centre setting is preferred.
- You should feel confident supporting residents with higher care needs, including hospital-level and dementia care.
- You need the ability to adjust activities for a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities.
- Experience in aged care is welcome but not essential.
