Activity and Lifestyle Coordinator

Role overview

Ryman Healthcare is looking for an energetic and caring Activity and Lifestyle Coordinator to help create enjoyable, meaningful experiences for residents in a vibrant community. The role focuses on bringing people together, supporting wellbeing, and adding joy, purpose, and connection to everyday life.

This opportunity is based at Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora, Canterbury, a welcoming community in North Canterbury near cafés, parks, and other local amenities.

About the position

This is a full-time onsite role, working Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm, for a total of 32.5 hours each week. The position suits someone who is compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic about working with people. The work is varied, and each day may involve different activities, events, outings, and resident engagement.

A full driver’s licence is required, and the successful person must be comfortable driving a manual van.

What you will do

• Design and run activities, outings, and events that reflect residents’ interests and abilities.
• Support social connection, engagement, and overall wellbeing.
• Help residents stay connected with friends, family, and the wider community.
• Introduce opportunities for creativity, movement, enjoyment, and lifelong learning.
• Assist with village events, group sessions, and exercise programmes.
• Work alongside colleagues, volunteers, residents, and families to create positive daily experiences.
