We are inviting an experienced and driven Insights Manager to lead our team of Insights Program Managers and Data Engineers. This leadership position focuses on transforming our operations and data strategy related to Scaled Insights, blending strategic data priorities with effective hands-on technical deployment. The role requires ensuring strategic alignment between business goals and data capabilities while fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Location and Work Setup

This position is based in Chicago, IL, with hybrid work flexibility, involving both remote and office days based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate a clear data strategy aligned with business objectives, establishing a roadmap focused on impactful initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Engineering, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders.
  • Oversee the construction of scalable data pipelines, AI infrastructure, and monitoring systems while upholding strong data governance and quality standards.
  • Keep abreast of emerging data technologies and critically evaluate their relevance for strategic adoption.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members to cultivate curiosity, experimentation, and continuous progress.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive collaborative environment.
  • Manage team accountability through True North Metrics such as Jira and Refresh SLAs.
  • Set and monitor KPIs and OKRs to evaluate team performance and project outcomes.
  • Implement agile methodologies and iterative delivery practices.
  • Handle resource allocation and capacity planning to optimize operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in data-centered roles including data analytics, engineering, or science.
  • At least two years of experience in a leadership capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in aligning data initiatives with broader business strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with problem-solving abilities and a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Expertise with data analysis tools and software.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Experience within the technology or software sector.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistics and data visualization techniques.
  • Experience in designing data infrastructures and architectures.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and technologies such as Hadoop and HDFS.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data stack tools like dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake.
  • Understanding AI and machine learning lifecycle and operational frameworks (MLOps).

Our pay range for this position is $131,000 to $212,000 annually, with compensation packages tailored to experience, skills, certifications, and location, and may include bonuses, stock, and benefits.
