Role Overview
This role is for a results-oriented Logistics Insurance Merchant Operations Solution Specialist supporting the Southeast Asia and US cross-border e-commerce landscape, including TikTok Shop, Amazon, and independent storefronts. The position centers on creating and rolling out merchant-facing logistics insurance operating models, understanding merchant challenges, strengthening risk control for merchant segments, and delivering measurable business value while supporting growth. Strong spoken and written Chinese and English are essential for working with merchants and partners across regions.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement end-to-end logistics insurance operating solutions for business merchants such as TikTok Shop sellers, cross-border freight forwarders, overseas warehouse operators, and logistics providers.
- Tailor insurance programs, claims fast-track processes, and value-added service bundles to solve merchant pain points, improve policy purchase conversion and retention, and generate measurable outcomes such as lower negative review rates, reduced cargo-loss expenses, and better logistics satisfaction.
- Create a segmented merchant operating framework with differentiated pricing, rebate structures, and service standards for groups such as small and mid-sized freight forwarders, top sellers, and brand-owned independent stores.
- Translate the above into scalable operating SOPs that can be reused across merchant segments.
- Apply a strong understanding of logistics insurance risk control to build and refine merchant-side controls, including onboarding review, adverse-selection detection, and fraud prevention.
- Work with product teams to improve risk-control models and keep loss ratios within target levels.
- Handle communication and mitigation planning for high-value claims, while building a database of risk-related merchant attributes to strengthen future controls.
- Work closely with local merchants, partners, and channel agents across Southeast Asia and the US, using bilingual Chinese-English communication to shape localized operating plans that fit regional market needs.
- Partner with sales, product, and claims teams to test, iterate, and launch new merchant-side logistics insurance features and solutions.
- Monitor key operating metrics such as policy conversion, retention, average customer lifetime value, and loss ratio, then use data analysis to identify improvements and raise operational efficiency and ROI.
- Document successful merchant collaboration cases and turn them into repeatable operating playbooks that support business scaling.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business-to-business, merchant-facing operations.
- Strong capability in analyzing merchant needs and turning pain points into practical, executable solutions.
- Hands-on experience in cross-border e-commerce, logistics insurance, freight forwarding, or cross-border payments is preferred.
- Experience with TikTok Shop or Amazon merchant operations is a strong advantage.
- Basic understanding of insurance risk-control principles, with prior exposure to risk identification or loss-ratio improvement preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both Chinese and English for cross-regional stakeholder management.
