Job description

About NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the UK's largest healthcare providers, employing around 40,000 staff across diverse clinical and non-clinical roles. The organization provides acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to over 1.15 million people, extending to 2.2 million when regional and national services are considered.

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified consultant in Dental Public Health to join the Oral Health Directorate based at Stobhill Hospital. This fixed-term position lasts 18 months, requiring 10 sessions per week. The role involves providing expert dental public health advice and contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based oral health strategies across the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area. The position collaborates closely with public health consultants on broad public health matters.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the GDC’s Specialist Register in Dental Public Health.
  • For UK-trained candidates: Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for CESR, or within six months of confirmed entry at interview time.

Additional Information

The role can be considered on a part-time or sessional basis. Flexible working options may be discussed to balance service needs with personal circumstances. The interview is scheduled for 18 August 2026, and early application submission is advised due to potential early closure of the vacancy. Please note, due to application volume, shortlisting feedback will not be provided.

Equal Opportunity and Commitment

NHSGGC embraces diversity and inclusion throughout its workforce and adheres to the Armed Forces Covenant, actively welcoming applications from the Armed Forces community and recognizing their transferable skills.
