Role overview

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call delivery agent for the Lindsay area. In this position, you will represent the organization in the community, ensuring that mail and parcels reach homes and businesses efficiently.

What you will do

• Begin each shift at the depot by organizing and preparing the day’s deliveries.
• Load a Canada Post postal vehicle and operate it as part of your route.
• Spend most of the day outdoors delivering letters and parcels on foot or by vehicle.
• Return to the depot at the end of the route to unload incoming mail and packages for future delivery.

Qualifications and requirements

• Hold a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence and have a clean driving history for at least 3 years; a driver’s abstract is required.
• Be able to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) repeatedly during the workday.
• Be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
• Be available for on-call scheduling.
• Be able to read, write, and speak English and/or French.
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Experience in delivery work or driving is an added advantage.
