The company brings together coaching and technology across medical, legal, business, and college admissions, with the goal of modernizing a process that has traditionally been difficult to navigate. Backed by well-known venture capital firms and investors, it continues to scale quickly.
Role Overview
The organization is hiring a Law School Admissions Consultant with prior admissions committee exposure and a strong command of law school admissions. This role is suited to someone who enjoys mentoring, coaching, and helping prospective law students craft competitive applications for leading programs.
You will advise applicants throughout the admissions process, helping them shape application strategy, improve their profiles, and refine key materials such as essays and personal statements. The position is part-time, remote, and structured as a 1099 contract role that may be performed from anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Responsibilities
- Partner with prospective law school applicants to find ways to strengthen their candidacy and develop effective application materials.
- Support applicants and their families with strategic and practical guidance on school selection, resumes, recommendation letters, essays, interviews, and the broader admissions process.
- Recommend law schools that fit each student’s goals and background, and provide guidance on related academic paths, majors, and admissions resources.
- Help students organize projects and manage application deadlines using trackers and other planning tools.
- Coach applicants on personal statements and essays, including structure, editing, storytelling, and narrative flow while preserving the applicant’s own voice.
- Monitor developments in law school admissions and use current trends to advise clients on school choice and application strategy.
Requirements
- Completion of a U.S. JD program from a T-14 law school.
- Prior service on a law school admissions committee, including review of applications and participation in acceptance or rejection decisions.
- Background advising or supporting applicants to T-14 law schools.
- Genuine interest in mentoring, coaching, and helping students succeed.
- Strong planning, organization, and project management abilities.
- Excellent English reading, writing, and editing skills, especially for law school essays and personal statements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Information
This is a part-time, remote, 1099 contract position. The role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
