Position Overview
We seek a Law School Admissions Consultant who possesses comprehensive knowledge of law school admissions. This consultant will mentor and assist aspiring law students by crafting admission strategies, polishing personal statements and application essays, preparing them for interviews, and advising them to select fitting law schools and programs. This role, offered as a part-time 1099 contract, allows remote work from locations across the US or Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide prospective law students in identifying ways to strengthen their applications and develop standout admission materials.
- Maintain communication with applicants and their families, delivering strategic advice on school choice, personal statements, essays, resumes, recommendations, interviews, and overall admission procedures.
- Assist in selecting the best law schools and programs suited to each student’s profile and goals by providing insights on admissions resources and research.
- Support students with application project planning, timeline management, and tracking progress using internal systems.
- Continuously update knowledge on admissions trends, procedures, and law school programs to offer current and relevant advice.
Qualifications
- Experience serving on a law school admissions committee with a track record of reviewing applications and deciding admissions outcomes.
- Juris Doctor degree from a top-14 ranked US law school.
- Proven experience counseling applicants aiming for top-14 law schools.
- Strong enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring students.
- Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
- Superior English reading, writing, and editing proficiency, especially in law school application materials.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in managing projects and tracking applicant progress.
