The Role
We seek a Law School Admissions Consultant with comprehensive knowledge of the law school admissions journey. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about mentoring prospective law students through application strategies, honing personal statements and essays, preparing for interviews, and aiding in the selection of suitable law programs. This part-time, remote contractor position (1099) welcomes applicants from anywhere across the USA or Canada.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with prospective law students to identify ways to enhance their applications and create compelling admissions materials.
- Manage relationships with applicants and their families by offering strategic and practical advice on selecting law schools, crafting personal statements, essays, resumes, recommendation letters, interview preparation, and the overall admissions process.
- Help students determine the best-fit law schools and programs by providing informed feedback on research, admissions criteria, and school choices, aligned with their backgrounds and goals.
- Assist students with planning projects, managing application timelines, and tracking progress using internal organizational tools.
- Remain current with developments in law school admissions, trends, and programs to effectively counsel existing and prospective students.
Qualifications
- Prior experience serving on a law school admissions committee, including application evaluations and admissions decisions.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top 14 U.S. law school.
- Proven experience advising applicants targeting T-14 law schools.
- Strong passion for coaching and mentorship.
- Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
- Advanced English proficiency in reading, writing, and editing, especially for law school personal statements and application essays.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of project management and applicant tracking methodologies.
