Role Overview

This position seeks a Law School Admissions Consultant with profound knowledge of the law school admissions landscape. The consultant will mentor prospective law students by devising effective application strategies, refining personal statements and essays, preparing for interviews, and advising on selecting appropriate law schools and programs. This role is part-time, remote, and operates under a 1099 contract, open to candidates across the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with prospective law school candidates to enhance their profiles and craft persuasive application materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with applicants and their families, guiding them through law school selection, personal statements, essays, resumes, recommendations, interviews, and the admissions process as a whole.
• Recommend suitable law schools and programs aligned with each student's background and ambitions while providing resources and feedback on admissions research and school choice.
• Assist students in planning, managing application timelines, and tracking their progress utilizing internal organizational tools.
• Keep current with law school admissions procedures, trends, and programs to provide informed advice on school selection and application nuances.

Qualifications

• Experience serving on a law school admissions committee capable of evaluating applications and making admission decisions, contributing deep insights into the process.
• Holder of a Juris Doctor degree from a top 14 U.S. law school (T-14).
• Proven experience advising candidates applying to T-14 law schools.
• Strong passion for coaching and mentoring prospective students.
• Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
• Proficient English reading, writing, and editing skills especially relevant to law school application essays and personal statements.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in project management and experience with applicant tracking systems.
