Job description
Role Overview
Ward F8 at Frimley Park Hospital features a 31-bed surgical unit dedicated to general surgical patients. This role offers the chance to advance clinical expertise within a supportive multidisciplinary team focused on compassionate, patient-centred care in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a respected role model for peers and junior staff.
- Manage operational activities to uphold ward efficiency and ensure patient safety.
- Implement and monitor adherence to trust and national healthcare standards.
- Provide leadership support to the nursing team, including mentorship and induction guidance for new employees and students.
- Engage in recruitment and selection processes for new nursing staff.
- Handle ward-level complaints in line with established procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Mandatory: Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
- Preferred: Completion of post-registration courses in surgical or critical care, and teaching or mentorship certification.
- Demonstrated experience in vascular nursing and adult surgical ward environments.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities, with sound decision-making and prioritization skills.
