Job description
Role Overview
Our key accounts significantly influence both revenue and profitability. We foster long-term partnerships grounded in satisfaction, making effective key account management crucial to maintaining competitive strength and driving company success.
As a (Junior) Key Account Manager, you will independently manage and strategically develop selected REWE regional segments, key regional accounts, and top multi-store operators. You will negotiate and implement product assortments, promotions, placements, and launches while ensuring product availability and distribution. Additionally, you will design innovative omni-channel activation measures and annual initiatives aligned with sales strategy, collaborating closely with internal teams such as Business Insights, Category Management, Trade Marketing, and Field Sales. This position is based in Munich or within the greater Rhine-Main or Stuttgart regions.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and analyze market and competitive developments to create relevant action plans.
- Utilize analysis platforms like Snowflake, YouGov, Circana, GfK, and client-specific data to evaluate customer potential and enhance point-of-sale quality through improvements in listing, distribution, placement, and effective promotions.
- Manage your assigned client portfolio independently, including buyers and assortment decision-makers, preparing and conducting annual and quarterly meetings.
- Develop, organize, and communicate action plans, product information, and trade fair participation for the sales force.
- Track implementation of national and regional initiatives through regular store checks within the customer universe.
- Create growth plans for volume, sales, and value creation within agreed budgets, using CPM and BI systems to control client profitability and manage quantity and production planning.
- Engage in open and active communication across departments, collaborating with Field Sales, Trade Marketing, Shopper Insights, Category & E-Commerce Management, and other Key Account teams.
- Maintain regular field presence, supporting team members during store visits in assigned regions.
Requirements
- Completed degree in business administration, economics, or comparable commercial training and professional experience.
- Fluent German and very good to negotiation-level English skills.
- Persuasive, communicative, and assertive personality with strong negotiation capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong numerical understanding and ability to derive independent conclusions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong customer and service orientation.
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Resilience and stamina.
- Good organizational and structuring abilities.
- Proactive, fast, solution-focused approach combined with hands-on mentality.
- Positive and open attitude, embracing humor in the workplace.
