About the Role

Join a unique marketplace specializing in extraordinary objects, ranging from rare artifacts to exclusive collectibles. This position focuses on leading the Post War Art & Prints category for German, Austrian, and Swiss artworks, helping to curate and grow an auction pipeline through expert sourcing, evaluation, and seller engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and assess artworks from German-speaking Post War Art & Prints to maintain a dynamic, relevant auction lot pipeline.
  • Evaluate numerous submissions accurately and consistently to uphold quality standards.
  • Prepare expert descriptions for auction lots, establish market-aligned price estimates, and recommend appropriate reserve prices.
  • Develop and nurture seller relationships through meetings and prospect visits, providing strategic commercial advice.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to organize single-seller auctions and implement seller expansion initiatives.
  • Represent the company at art fairs and industry gatherings to build visibility and attract quality consignments.
  • Maintain connections with galleries, dealers, collectors, and institutions to ensure a steady and growing supply for the category.

Required Expertise and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in German, Austrian, and Swiss Post War Art & Prints, including appraisal and pricing skills.
  • Background in gallery management, auction houses, or art dealing within European art contexts.
  • Strong commercial acumen, capable of recognizing market opportunities and maintaining seller engagement.
  • Established reputation and network within German-speaking art markets.
  • Excellent collaborative skills to work with experts, sales, and cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Proficient in German and English; additional language skills are advantageous.
