Role Overview
We are looking to appoint a Junior HR Business Partner to join our UK HR team. This role functions primarily as an HR generalist Business Partner with a significant focus on employee relations. You will work closely with managers within a designated business area to offer practical, commercially-aware HR guidance throughout the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with managers to deliver proactive, practical HR support on diverse people-related matters to enable informed decision-making and enhance management skills.
- Establish strong partnerships with operational leaders to facilitate effective employee management.
- Guide managers through challenging discussions and ensure consistent application of HR policies.
- Provide constructive challenge to foster fair and commercially sound people decisions.
- Assist in the implementation of HR initiatives such as engagement, culture improvement, recognition, and communications.
- Manage all stages of the employee cycle including onboarding, offboarding, probation assessments, secondments, work placements, and contractual adjustments.
- Handle employee relations cases end-to-end, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, performance issues, and probation monitoring.
- Support managers throughout ER procedures from initial concerns to resolution and documentation, guaranteeing compliance and fairness.
- Advise on risk management, policies, and suitable decisions aligned with employment legislation and internal guidelines.
- Assist recruitment efforts by managing pre-employment checks, referencing, and DBS processes.
- Ensure HR records are accurately maintained and compliant with legislation and internal standards.
- Develop trusted relationships across operations and support functions.
- Work collaboratively with HR colleagues to maintain consistent and superior delivery of HR practices within assigned sectors.
- Contribute to HR projects, change efforts, and continuous improvement aligned with business priorities.
- Support workforce management tasks including job changes, organizational updates, and access coordination.
- Maintain current knowledge of operational HR to ensure a smooth employee experience.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous HR or advisory experience, preferably in a fast-moving environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing employee relations cases is essential.
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR concepts, or working towards CIPD Level 5 accreditation.
- Confidence in partnering with managers and fostering strong professional relationships.
- Analytical skills to interpret people data and identify trends.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to persuade and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential matters.
- Committed interest in developing into a proficient HR Business Partner.
