Job description
About the Company
OCBC is Singapore’s most established bank, serving individuals and businesses since 1932. The organization focuses on understanding customer needs deeply and responding with tailored services, solutions, and career opportunities. It is currently evolving into a future-ready, technology-enabled learning organization with a long-term goal of being Asia’s top financial services partner for a sustainable future.
The bank offers an environment where you can contribute to financial innovation, support customers in growing their assets and investments, and build a career in a collaborative and people-focused workplace.
Role Overview
The Investment Specialist will support Personal Banking Financial Consultants with a primary emphasis on Unit Trusts. The role combines investment advisory, economic analysis, sales support, client counselling, and internal capability-building for frontline sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advisory assistance to Personal Banking Financial Consultants, especially on Unit Trust products.
- Review economic indicators and market developments, then turn those insights into practical action points for Unit Trust sales.
- Offer investment guidance to clients by joining joint meetings with consultants and explaining market outlook, portfolio positioning, and product features.
- Coach and mentor consultants through ongoing learning sessions covering Unit Trusts, investment basics, and portfolio allocation approaches.
- Help prepare recurring investment communication materials such as newsletters, product briefs, and investment recommendation notes for customer distribution.
Candidate Profile
The right candidate should bring direct experience with Unit Trusts and portfolio allocation, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant background in investment advisory, investment research, or selling financial products at Premier or Priority banking level. A strong analytical mindset is essential, as is the ability to convert macroeconomic and market information into usable sales strategies.
A good university degree is preferred, and professional qualifications would be an advantage. Familiarity with macroeconomics, financial markets, and the broader wealth management product landscape is desirable. The role also suits someone who is comfortable working across multiple priorities and contributing in a small team while building broad-based investment and investment sales expertise.
What the Company Offers
OCBC provides a competitive base salary, flexible and comprehensive benefits, community-focused initiatives, and strong learning and professional development opportunities. The organization also emphasizes employee wellbeing, growth, and long-term career aspirations.
