Job description

Role overview

This senior position is focused on shaping and managing a family office’s multi-asset investment portfolio. The role covers strategy design, asset allocation, monitoring of exposures and performance, and execution of investment actions needed to carry out the agreed plan.

Investment strategy and asset allocation

  • Create a long-range investment framework for the portfolio.
  • Recommend asset allocation based on macroeconomic conditions, liquidity requirements, risk tolerance, and other key priorities.
  • Track portfolio performance and rebalance exposures so that holdings remain within strategy and portfolio limits.

Strategic research

  • Perform and refresh macroeconomic and thematic research, forming structured views on the global environment and the relative appeal of multi-asset opportunities across public equities, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, credit, real estate, and USD-denominated assets.
  • Prepare clear and timely market outlooks and thematic research presentations.
  • Translate research findings into allocation priorities and tactical adjustments.

Risk management

  • Monitor macro, sector, and broader portfolio risks and assess their implications for the investment book.
  • Provide recommendations and market insight to the Investment Committee.

Liquidity and funding planning

  • Work with the finance team to build forward-looking views on portfolio liquidity and cash flow, including anticipated capital calls, distributions, and their effect on funding needs.
  • Design and manage liquidity solutions that help support obligations while improving returns where possible.

Exits and capital recycling

  • Improve capital recycling and cost recovery across the family office portfolio with the aim of achieving target DPI.
  • Identify assets suitable for secondary exits and help connect them with prospective buyers.
  • Develop and sustain a network of intermediaries and advisers to support liquidity events for private market holdings.
  • Assist with transaction coordination and execution.

Investment Committee support

  • Support Investment Committee discussions, decision-making, and formal approval documentation.
  • Help the family office and the committee review the portfolio’s objectives, risk posture, and allocation framework.

Experience expectations

The preferred background for this role is more than 15 years of experience in investment management or investment advisory, ideally gained in a family office, advisory firm, or private bank.

Experience using software and AI-enabled tools for research, analysis, or visualisation is strongly preferred.
