About the Role
A prominent hedge fund is currently looking to hire a skilled Quantitative Research Analyst to enhance its investment team. This role offers an excellent chance to collaborate closely with seasoned investment experts, conducting thorough manager due diligence, evaluating investment strategies, and supporting key portfolio construction as well as investment choices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform continuous qualitative and quantitative evaluations of alternative investment managers, aiding in the review of potential managers for client portfolios.
- Compile comprehensive research reports, performance assessments, and recommend investments to guide internal investment committees and portfolio decisions.
- Regularly track and critique manager performance, risk metrics, and investment methodologies.
- Engage in frequent discussions and meetings with investment managers, documenting outcomes and nurturing collaborative partnerships.
- Support various investment research initiatives, portfolio evaluations, and contribute to the creation of analytical frameworks and reports.
- Help prepare client-facing reports and other investment documentation with a commitment to precision and professionalism.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess 3 to 6 years of experience in financial markets, investment analysis, portfolio research, manager evaluation, or a similar quantitative role.
- Academic qualifications with a strong quantitative foundation, ideally in subjects such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or comparable analytical fields.
- A sound knowledge of financial markets, investment principles, portfolio formation, and risk oversight; familiarity with alternative investments is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical capabilities; experience using Python, R, MATLAB, or related quantitative software is desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong communication and organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks while thriving in a team-oriented setting.
