Role overview
This position is responsible for steering Jeddah Transport Company’s growth agenda by sourcing, structuring, and commercializing strategic investments, partnerships, and public-private partnership opportunities. The role owns market expansion, partnership planning, transaction execution, and value delivery across the full lifecycle of opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Set and lead the business development roadmap in line with the company’s corporate and portfolio goals.
- Spot, originate, and rank strategic business, investment, and PPP opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a strong pipeline of business development and investment opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Monitor market, sector, and competitor trends to guide growth priorities and strategic positioning.
- Develop and sustain relationships with government, semi-government, and private-sector stakeholders.
- Drive senior-level engagement and alignment among multiple parties to progress complex partnerships and PPPs.
- Assess and develop long-term strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances.
- Lead the structuring, negotiation, and closure of PPPs, joint ventures, and major commercial agreements.
- Review and approve business models, revenue frameworks, pricing approaches, and value capture mechanisms.
- Ensure contractual structures are commercially sound, financeable, and aligned with governance and risk-sharing requirements.
- Oversee partnership and investment performance to achieve targeted financial and strategic results.
- Make sure agreements are converted into operational, financial, and performance metrics during implementation.
- Track SLAs, KPIs, and revenue commitments, and initiate corrective actions when performance falls short.
- Guide financial modeling, investment evaluation, and commercial due diligence work.
- Contribute to capital planning, budgeting, and long-term forecasts tied to growth initiatives.
- Confirm that business plans are practical and supported by the required operational and organizational capability.
- Identify and manage commercial, financial, and strategic risks linked to BD initiatives and partnerships.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Support investment and approval committees with commercial analysis and recommendations.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with planning, technical, operations, finance, and legal teams throughout the deal cycle.
- Mentor and guide BD team members while contributing to talent growth.
- Build stronger business development and partnership capabilities through best practices, tools, and frameworks.
- Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and performance updates for senior management.
- Present strategic recommendations and progress updates to executive leadership and relevant boards or committees.
