About the Role
We are collaborating with a reputable long-only investment firm looking for an Investment Analyst to become a core member of its Asian Equities team. This position provides close interaction with seasoned portfolio managers to identify superior companies across Asia by conducting fundamental, bottom-up stock research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth fundamental analysis of publicly traded companies across Asia (excluding Japan or Asia Pacific depending on the portfolio mandate).
- Develop and update comprehensive financial models and valuation approaches.
- Originate unique investment ideas through detailed bottom-up investigative research.
- Engage with company executives, industry specialists, and sell-side research analysts to gather insights.
- Track portfolio investments to detect risks, potential catalysts, and any shifts in the investment thesis.
- Communicate investment proposals effectively to Portfolio Managers and the Investment Committee.
- Generate thorough and well-substantiated investment reports.
- Keep informed on macroeconomic shifts and sectoral trends that could impact portfolio assets.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a closely related field.
- Have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience working in buy-side equity research, sell-side equity research, or investment banking.
- Exhibit robust skills in financial modelling, accounting, and valuation methods.
- Show a strong enthusiasm for public equities and fundamental investment approaches.
- Ability to assess complex business models and form independent investment conclusions.
- Superior analytical abilities combined with excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and capability to work independently while thriving in a team setting.
- Prior experience with Asian equities is highly preferred.
- Advantageous to have progressed toward or completed the CFA credential.
