Role Overview
The International Student Recruitment Officer (IRO) for the Caribbean region, reporting to the Associate Director of International Student Recruitment, is tasked with supporting strategic and tactical recruitment efforts targeted at selected Caribbean territories excluding Grenada. This position primarily focuses on cultivating qualified applications for the SGU Doctor of Medicine degree across its campuses in Grenada and the UK. The IRO plays a critical role in meeting recruitment targets within budget and enhancing SGU’s recruitment approach by providing relevant market insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Caribbean recruitment team to meet student recruitment objectives across diverse markets and channels including agencies, feeder institutions, and direct applicants.
- Manage prospective student leads using Salesforce CRM by ensuring thorough qualification and prompt follow-ups.
- Provide guidance and educational counseling to prospective students and families both in-person and digitally throughout the application journey.
- Support students with submission of application materials and facilitate their progress through the admissions process.
- Plan and participate in recruitment events such as exhibitions, fairs, school visits, and SGU information sessions.
- Serve as a professional representative of SGU at recruitment activities, advising schools, agencies, students, sponsors, and parents.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with education agents, feeder schools, and recruitment partners.
- Identify emerging recruitment opportunities and report on trends affecting Caribbean markets.
- Maintain precise records of student data in Salesforce CRM and collaborate with Admissions and other SGU departments to ensure smooth applicant experiences.
- Report market updates, performance metrics, and recruitment analyses to the Associate Director.
- Work alongside SGU Regional Managers to optimize recruitment across all channels.
- Gain thorough understanding of SGU’s programs, admissions criteria, scholarships, and regional education systems.
- Stay updated on healthcare education trends, sponsorships, and regulatory changes locally, feeding back to SGU leadership.
- Deliver engaging presentations and proposals to prospective students, partners, and institutions emphasizing SGU’s strengths.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in student recruitment, international education, admissions, or closely related fields.
- Background in sales or business development with knowledge of school and agency recruitment channels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong networking capabilities to cultivate enduring professional partnerships.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team demonstrating initiative and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills with capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Results-driven with a polished and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- One to three years of relevant international education recruitment experience.
- Fluency in English is required.

- The position is home-based, preferably in the Caribbean or Miami, Florida.

- Frequent travel across the Caribbean is expected.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during high recruitment seasons is necessary.
