Role Overview
The International Operations Department (IOD) at DPD UK is seeking a dedicated International Commercial Finance Analyst to work out of Oldbury, B69 4DA. Reporting to the International Commercial Finance Manager, this role offers a valuable opportunity to support the UK business by providing deep commercial insight and operational assistance related to international operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Address service performance challenges by producing cause analysis reports and collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues impacting DPD Classic service delivery.
- Ensure operational procedures are consistently applied and aligned with the development of international product offerings.
- Analyze trends from escalations concerning DPD Classic service quality and compliance, then compile reports outlining corrective actions.
- Communicate procedural updates or changes that may affect deliveries for DPD Group customers.
- Support presentations to international clients, senior management, and internal teams, and participate in meetings by providing specialist international knowledge.
- Engage in special projects and working groups aimed at enhancing international service offerings.
- Recommend improvements to customer experience for DPD Classic services to key stakeholders.
- Monitor vehicle fill rates and capacity planning for DPD Classic daily operations.
- Collaborate regularly with Road Service teams and stakeholders to identify operational trends to improve KPIs.
- Deliver timely analytical, commercial, and decision-support information to managers and stakeholders.
- Help ensure departmental deadlines and management reporting cycles meet agreed schedules.
- Quarterly review supplier commercial rates to identify and highlight potential cost savings.
- Offer budget holders prompt analytical support and commercial insights.
- Report key customer contribution data alongside additional commercial insights.
- Track weekly customer trends and contribute to forecasting activities.
- Suggest process improvements to reduce time spent on transactional work.
- Analyze data to recommend actionable solutions and comparative evaluations.
- Investigate and promote cost-saving ideas in collaboration with IOD teams, presenting recommendations to management.
- Work closely with IOD Managers to accurately cost and price bespoke commercial solutions.
- Initiate new analyses and reporting aimed at generating revenue, reducing costs, or improving services.
- Network proactively within departments to gain insight into their functions and impact on commercial activities.
- Collaborate with fellow analysts on joint projects to enhance insights and add value.
- Assist in the reconciliation and review of customer and destination margins with strategic commercial insights.
- Accurately price bespoke operational solutions for key customers and assess their business impact.
- Provide ad hoc financial analyses and reports supporting operational decisions.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for data analysis with a meticulous attention to detail. A high degree of proficiency in Excel and Google Suite is essential. Working Conditions and Benefits
