Role Overview
This senior technical leadership position within the Finance team is pivotal for managing and leading Contact's comprehensive insurance portfolio. You will oversee coverage for significant national infrastructure and renewable assets, ensuring we remain resilient and strategically positioned for emerging challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage Contact's all-encompassing insurance program, guaranteeing coverage suits the diverse assets and projects.
- Collaborate closely with senior management, project teams, and stakeholders to integrate insurance considerations early in decision-making.
- Handle relationships with insurers and brokers, leading contract negotiations, policy renewals, and claims to secure optimal business outcomes.
- Offer specialized advice on insurance risks, policy framework, contract conditions, and risk transfer approaches across various enterprise endeavors.
- Influence strategic initiatives and investments by providing risk-focused insight on new opportunities and challenges.
- Support Board and committee reporting, maintaining the strength of governance and risk control procedures.
- Continuously improve insurance methodologies, frameworks, and maintain alignment with industry best standards.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise managing complex insurance programs in sizable organizations.
- Extensive knowledge in insurance policy design, renewals, claims handling, and enterprise risk strategies.
- Proven success influencing outcomes by engaging brokers, insurers, and senior internal stakeholders.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to relate insurance decisions to corporate goals.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, organizational change, and competing priorities with confidence.
- Skilled in delivering trusted advice, asking incisive questions, and effectively challenging senior leadership.
- Exceptional communication, capable of preparing executive-level reports and recommendations.
- A cooperative mindset with a readiness to work across multiple teams and locations.
Preferred Experience
Background in infrastructure, utilities, energy, telecommunications, or asset-intensive sectors is advantageous, though core insurance knowledge and leadership skills are essential.
