Job description
About Contact Energy
Contact Energy is a New Zealand energy, broadband, and mobile provider focused on helping shape a better future for Aotearoa. The company is investing in renewable energy and more connected ways of working, with a purpose rooted in caring for people, communities, and the place people call home.
The Brand & Marketing team helps customers understand the company’s purpose, products, and value. This opening is for an experienced marketing professional who can lead campaigns that raise awareness, deepen customer engagement, and strengthen the brand across Aotearoa.
This opportunity sits at an exciting stage for the business, with scope to influence major integrated campaigns, work with leading agency partners, and own partnership activity with high visibility.
Role Overview
This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who enjoys combining strategy, creativity, and delivery to produce marketing that reaches customers at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver integrated marketing and communications campaigns across several channels.
- Work with creative and media agencies to turn campaign ideas into launch-ready customer activity and ongoing optimisation.
- Collaborate with teams in pricing, growth, customer experience, digital, product, and research to ensure campaign work supports business and customer goals.
- Shape how the company communicates through brand campaigns, partnerships, digital activity, customer messaging, and content.
- Juggle several priorities at once while keeping delivery on time and to a high standard.
- Use customer insight, research, and business context to create communications that connect with audiences and prompt action.
- Support and protect the Contact brand by maintaining consistency and quality across communications.
About You
You are an experienced marketer with strong campaign delivery skills, commercial judgement, and a curiosity about customers. You are comfortable working across complex stakeholder groups and turning information into clear, effective communications.
What You’ll Bring
- At least five years’ experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns in a services environment.
- Hands-on experience working with creative and media agencies.
- Confidence operating in complex stakeholder settings and aligning people around shared outcomes.
- Ability to turn customer insight, research, data, or technical material into clear messaging.
- Strong organisation and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing demands.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong attention to quality.
- Experience from client-side, agency-side, or both.
Additional Information
This role is based in Auckland and suits someone who enjoys working in person with colleagues and agency partners. Flexible working is supported where it works for the individual, the team, and the business.
The company describes itself as growing, evolving, and investing in its people. Benefits mentioned include free health insurance cover, boosted KiwiSaver, access to Contact Shares, a “Good to be Home” annual payment for home setup and wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, and twice-yearly payments toward products for Contact customers.
Applications close on Sunday 19 July 2026. The company encourages early applications.
The hiring process is intended to be inclusive and welcoming to people from all backgrounds, ages, stages, identities, and communities. The organisation values belonging, diverse perspectives, and reducing bias in recruitment.
Employee wellbeing is supported through initiatives and resources for physical, mental, financial, and emotional health, including flexible working arrangements, employee network groups, and a market-leading parental leave policy.
Only candidates with the legal right to live and work in New Zealand will be considered.
Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every requirement, as the company does not want to encourage box-ticking and welcomes relevant stories and transferable experience.
Unsolicited CVs from recruitment agencies, or directly to line managers, will not create any payment obligation for the company unless a formal agency engagement has already been agreed with the Talent team. In such cases, the company may contact those candidates directly for current or future roles.
