Job description
Overview
SHORTA Skills is on the lookout for a Social Media Marketing Specialist who can transform our meaningful mission into compelling content that captures attention. We connect Australian businesses with skilled workers from overseas, simplifying visa sponsorships. Behind each post lies a real success story: a business finding the right employee or a migrant starting a new life in Australia. Your role is to tell these authentic stories consistently with a trustworthy voice targeting employers and candidates.
Our primary platform is LinkedIn, where we engage SME owners, HR managers, and operations leaders. Instagram and Facebook complement this by enhancing our brand's human side and reaching broader candidates and community audiences.
About SHORTA Skills
Our company addresses the complex challenge of linking Australian companies with skilled international applicants, streamlining visa and sponsorship processes for all parties. With over ten years’ expertise in migration and skilled visas, we've developed a platform that removes the complexity from hiring globally. We're scaling up and seeking team members passionate about contributing beyond filling roles.
Headquartered on the Gold Coast, we embrace a remote-first culture, flat hierarchy, and a caring team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage SHORTA’s LinkedIn content calendar and posting schedule daily.
- Create posts tailored for Australian SMEs, HR managers, and operations decision-makers.
- Develop engaging content including posts, carousel graphics, and short videos featuring employer successes, candidate journeys, and insights from founders.
- Expand followers and engagement specifically within the Australian audience.
- Assist company founders and team with personal LinkedIn content and thought leadership postings.
- Analyze performance metrics (reach, engagement, profile visits, leads) and adapt content strategies accordingly.
- Establish and maintain cohesive and on-brand visuals and captions for Instagram and Facebook, including Stories and Reels.
- Humanize the brand through behind-the-scenes stories, team culture highlights, candidate success features, and debunking migration myths.
- Customize LinkedIn content for appropriate formats on Instagram and Facebook rather than duplicating posts.
- Engage authentically with audience comments, direct messages, and relevant online communities.
- Coordinate content sourcing from team members such as interviews, quotes, photos, and video clips.
- Ensure tone consistency—warm, clear, credible, and approachable; avoiding corporate or salesy language.
- Stay informed of social media trends and competitor activities, bringing new ideas to the team.
- Report regularly on social media performance to inform future content decisions.
Candidate Profile
Applicants don’t need to meet every criterion but should have:
- Experience managing social media accounts, preferably including LinkedIn.
- Strong writing skills adaptable for LinkedIn thought leadership posts, Instagram captions, and Facebook community interactions.
- A good sense for what content—posts, images, or short videos—will attract engagement.
- Self-motivation with the ability to maintain a content calendar independently.
- Familiarity with basic content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, and native scheduling platforms.
- Alignment with SHORTA’s core values of fairness, inclusion, and ethical treatment.
Additional assets include:
- Experience in growing LinkedIn business pages or personal brands.
- Background in business-to-business marketing, recruitment, HR technology, or professional services.
- Basic photo and video editing skills.
- Interest or knowledge of the Australian visa and migration space.
- Startup environment or founder collaboration experience.
Why This Role Stands Out
Unlike usual junior social media roles, you will:
- Own the channel strategy and content creation from scratch.
- Help shape and refine SHORTA’s brand voice.
- See direct results from your work linking employers with candidates.
- Experience rapid growth opportunities in scope and responsibility as you meet KPIs.
- Work closely with company founders in a fast, trusting environment without layers of approval.
Our Values
- Fairness: equal opportunities for employers and candidates.
- Inclusion: promoting diverse teams for improved performance.
- Ethical Recruitment: honesty and transparency with no hidden fees or shortcuts.
- Respect: dignified treatment of every individual.
Benefits
- Fully remote work anywhere in Australia.
- Ownership of a social media channel from day one, covering strategy and execution.
- Work with a mission-focused team passionate about global talent access.
- Clear pathways for growth, increasing hours, responsibilities, and pay as KPIs are met.
- Early-team member role in a company innovating international hiring.
