Job description
About the role
The In-House Collection Specialist will handle internal debt recovery operations and provide guidance to junior collection team members. The role focuses on managing soft collection activity, supporting escalated cases, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and improving collection performance through reporting and KPI tracking.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day soft collection calling activity and related recovery workflows.
- Oversee outreach to autopay customers so their account details can be updated as needed.
- Manage autopay ticket processing, including requests to add, remove, or amend details, while also handling complaints and stepping in on escalated issues.
- Coach, support, and train junior in-house collection staff to ensure collection cases are managed efficiently and professionally.
- Liaise with collection agencies and legal firms on specific escalated matters when required.
- Work closely with internal departments involved in collection-related processes.
- Define collection KPIs, review performance dashboards and reports, identify pain points, and recommend practical improvements to the Collections Manager.
- Carry out all duties in line with Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements and immediately report any information or physical security incident to the supervisor or manager.
- Follow all environmental obligations required by Kuwaiti statutory authorities and by Zain Group / Zain Kuwait policies.
- Comply with occupational health and safety requirements, helping maintain an OH&S management system that reduces hazards and risks while addressing system nonconformities.
Required skills and competencies

- Strong presentation, influencing, and communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Solid hands-on knowledge of debt collection methods and processes.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
- Ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and investigations.
- Experience working with analytics, dashboards, and structured problem-solving approaches.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret financial data and extract meaningful insights.
- Comfort working independently within cross-functional teams.
- Strong issue-spotting, critical thinking, and solution-building abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to evaluate situations and develop practical, original solutions.
- Experience creating KPIs, reports, and dashboards.
- Good awareness of telecommunications products, market trends, and technology developments.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, BI / Data Analysis, or a closely related field is preferred. Candidates should have more than 2 years of experience.
