About the Role
This position focuses on a wide range of accounting work related to pension and HR matters, with a strong IFRS foundation. The role involves handling consolidated reporting, reviewing specific payroll- and incentive-related accounting items, and supporting finance income and expense reviews at a group level.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and evaluate consolidated pension reporting.
- Work with the Pension Controller to complete monthly pension accounting activities.
- Coordinate with the actuary WTW to support AkzoNobel’s requirements for the FAStrack database, including actuarial report data uploads into HFM.
- Complete figures needed for the annual pension disclosure notes.
- Assess the accounting impact and treatment of HR developments for AN HR NL.
- Review share-based payment journals prepared by RAC.
- Track consolidated accounting for corporate short-term incentive plans and Dutch payroll.
- Take part in accounting improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
- Review finance income and expense at consolidated level.
- Work with the Treasury accountant and internal stakeholders on top-over insurance adjustments.
Candidate Profile
- The role is intended for an experienced accountant with around 4 to 6 years of relevant background, especially in IFRS.
- A strong financial understanding is needed to manage complex pension and HR accounting topics.
- The candidate should be comfortable communicating with colleagues across accounting, pension, HR, and other corporate functions.
- High ethical standards are essential, and the Code of Insider Trading applies to this position.
- The role calls for accounting knowledge at university level, gained through education or practical experience.
- Experience in accounting and reporting is expected.
- Strong familiarity with IFRS standards is required.
- Knowledge of Oracle and HFM will be considered an advantage.
- The ideal person is proactive, practical, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Consistency, accuracy, risk awareness, and a strong focus on delivering quality are important.
- The candidate must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good teamwork and strong English communication skills are required.
