Job description
Role Overview
This leadership role reports directly to the CEO, Group Director (Healthcare & Education), and Board, overseeing HR managers and business partners across hospitals, clinics, schools, and training centers. The primary focus is to lead and align people strategy with the objectives of healthcare and education entities to enhance patient care, learner success, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute an HR strategy that aligns with healthcare and education business goals and compliance necessities.
- Standardize HR policies and procedures including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and employee exit processes.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulatory requirements from health authorities, education bodies, and accreditation agencies in all jurisdictions served.
- Manage HR risks, audits, and compliance documentation for inspections, accreditations, and renewals.
- Lead workforce planning and staffing efforts for clinical (doctors, nurses, allied health) and academic (teachers, trainers) personnel along with support staff.
- Develop recruitment and selection frameworks assessing technical skills and behavioural suitability for patient-facing and learner-facing roles.
- Implement onboarding and ongoing training programs covering clinical skills, teaching quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish succession planning for key clinical and academic leadership positions.
- Foster a culture emphasizing safety, ethics, empathy, and professionalism across all entities.
- Design and administer performance management systems with defined KPIs linked to patient care, educational quality, and operational results.
- Champion employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives, including burnout prevention, counseling, flexible scheduling, and recognition tailored for clinical and academic teams.
- Handle complex employee relations issues, grievances, and investigations ensuring fair and compliant resolution.
- Oversee compensation and benefits frameworks, ensuring competitive, equitable structures within budget limits, as well as smooth payroll, leave management, and benefits processing.
- Leverage HR analytics to monitor attrition, absenteeism, overtime, and productivity, recommending improvements as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 12 to 18 years of HR experience, including a minimum of 5 years in senior HR leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare and/or education environments such as hospitals, clinics, schools, universities, or training centers, or equivalently regulated sectors.
- In-depth understanding of labor laws and sector-specific requirements for accreditation and compliance involving health authorities, education ministries, and licensing bodies.
