Role Overview

We are looking for a part-time HR Consultant, contributing 10-15 hours weekly. This mid-level, client-facing position demands hands-on involvement providing practical HR assistance across multiple projects and organizations. The role requires creating policies, overseeing recruitment, ensuring compliance, handling employee relations, and building scalable processes; additionally, the consultant will assist internally to boost People Function's growth.

Your Profile and Responsibilities

• Proactively serve as a trusted HR partner supporting clients throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Lead and manage client projects in performance management, compensation and benefits, legal compliance, and recruitment efforts.
• Design and execute HR policies and programs such as onboarding/offboarding, handbooks, performance evaluations, and HR technology integration tailored to client needs.
• Act as the main point of contact for employees while safeguarding confidentiality and escalating complex matters appropriately.
• Collaborate with senior consultants and leadership to design cultural initiatives and employee engagement strategies informed by data and benchmarking.
• Work independently managing complex assignments with minimal supervision.
• Oversee comprehensive HR operations including leave of absence administration, benefits enrollment, investigations, performance assessments, and payroll tasks.
• Contribute to internal projects focused on enhancing People Function's processes, culture, and growth trajectory.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships founded on outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, broadly or across multiple functional areas.
• Solid understanding of core HR disciplines such as recruiting, employee relations, compensation, and learning & development.
• Self-driven with demonstrated initiative and independence.
• Comfortable with HR technologies including ATS, payroll systems, HRIS, and AI tools.
• Excellent communication, consulting skills, and business insight.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
• Consulting or startup industry experience is advantageous.

Location and Work Conditions

This is a remote role, preferably located in the NYC Metro or West Coast areas, with the flexibility to visit clients as required.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this role is $75.
