About the role

People Function is seeking a highly creative, tech-forward Social Media & Content Manager to run the company’s full content engine. Reporting to the CEO and Founder, this is a hands-on, high-ownership position that blends strategy, creative direction, copywriting, production, partnerships, and AI-driven workflow design. The role is built for someone who can operate at the level of a larger team by using smart systems and automation.

The ideal candidate is not only comfortable using AI tools, but actively relies on them to streamline repetitive work and make more room for high-quality creative output. You should understand how to build efficient content systems, improve production speed, and keep the overall process scalable and resilient.

Social strategy and creative direction

  • Create and implement channel-specific content plans for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, while sustaining a steady pace of at least 5 posts each week and clear repeatable content themes.
  • Run weekly strategy check-ins to review results, coordinate priorities, and highlight any issues that could affect delivery.
  • Convert business goals into the right voice, content format, and creative direction for each platform.

Content production and publishing

  • Manage the complete content journey from concept to publication, including weekly filming sessions, directing shoots, editing short-form video, writing captions, and keeping publishing on schedule at a 95%+ on-time rate.
  • Maintain the social and filming tracker, ensuring every published post is recorded with a direct link.
  • Own delivery quality across Instagram and TikTok from start to finish while preserving a 95%+ timely publishing standard.

AI-powered automation and tooling

  • Design and maintain AI-supported workflows using tools such as Claude, Gemini, Opus Clip, CapCut AI, and Descript for ideation, scripting, captions, and scheduling.
  • Spot repetitive manual tasks and replace them with automation wherever possible.
  • Document SOPs and keep an up-to-date AI toolkit so the workflow can scale smoothly over time.

Copywriting and long-form content

  • Own the monthly social media deck and the weekly People Function newsletter, The PFunc Pulse on Beehiiv, with drafts due on Fridays and distribution on Tuesdays.
  • Draft LinkedIn posts with accompanying visuals and submit content for the following week every Friday.
  • Build and organize ideas for the content calendar across both written and scripted formats.

Engagement and community

  • Create and run a consistent engagement system for Instagram and TikTok, including recurring Story formats and regular weekly activity.
  • Focus on meaningful interaction such as comments, conversations, shares, and saves rather than only passive reach metrics.
  • Support and manage new distribution channels, including broadcast-style channels, where relevant.

Brand partnerships and sponsorships

  • Deliver against People Function’s brand-partner positioning and align Instagram, TikTok, and the newsletter into one sponsorship-ready offering.
  • Work with the CEO and VP of Ops to maintain a ranked list of target brand partners and coordinate organic content with authentic integration ideas.
  • Help shape deal structure and brand integration strategy, while noting that contract handling and accounting are outside the scope of the role.

Reporting and performance

  • Monitor performance across platforms, including views, engagement, reach, follower growth, and trend performance.
  • Present monthly learnings covering what worked, what did not, and where experiments may be worthwhile.
  • Use data insights to continuously refine creative direction and content strategy.

What you bring

You should have 3 to 5 years of experience in social media management, content strategy, or a similar area. A strong command of AI tools is essential, along with the ability to build practical systems around them. You will need solid video editing capability and comfort guiding on-camera talent.

Strong writing ability is important, especially the skill to adapt tone and style across different platforms and content types. You should be well organized, highly detail-oriented, and capable of managing your work independently from concept through analytics. Experience with partnerships, sponsorships, or influencer strategy is a plus. Familiarity with HR, people operations, or the B2B professional space is helpful but not required.

The role also calls for a proactive communicator who raises risks early and comes forward with solutions.

Expected outcomes

  • Month-over-month growth in follower growth rate across all platforms.
  • Generate $50,000 in revenue from social media and newsletter campaigns.
  • Increase inbound leads, partnership inquiries, or speaking requests tied to content each month.
  • Grow The PFunc Pulse’s open and click-through rates quarter over quarter, with replies and engagement showing a genuinely connected audience.
  • Build AI workflows that reduce production time in measurable ways without lowering quality.

Tools you will use

You are expected to be comfortable with, or quickly adapt to, tools such as AI platforms for content and copy, video editors like CapCut, Descript, Premiere, or similar AI-enabled software, Beehiiv for newsletters, scheduling tools such as Buffer, Later, or Planoly, Notion for project management, and analytics tools including native Instagram and TikTok dashboards plus any relevant third-party platforms.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000.
