Job description

About the Company

VARIETAS is a startup in the HR domain that leverages AI and technology to redefine how individuals connect with opportunities and positions. Their mission, "Friction 0," aims to eradicate societal frictions caused by structural issues, enabling every person to find opportunities matching their individuality. The company reconstructs all decision-making processes related to hiring, evaluation, development, and placement using data-driven methods.

Their flagship product, the interactive "AI Interviewer," streamlines everything from entry sheet reading, document screening, to conducting and assessing the first-round interview with AI. This multi-angle interviewing method evaluates candidates beyond aptitude to reveal true skills and potential, eliminating individual interviewer bias. Since pioneering AI interviewing in Japan in 2024, VARIETAS has rapidly expanded with major corporations adopting their solution, boasting a 100% upsell rate and zero churn. Recently, they have transitioned to the "TA Team," a cohesive adoption platform involving five AI agents covering the entire recruitment process. Their ultimate vision is to integrate recruitment data into comprehensive HR operating systems that connect hiring with employee placement, evaluation, and development, thereby enhancing overall organizational decision-making.

Role Overview

As the right-hand person directly supporting the CEO, you will operate at the forefront connecting strategy formulation and practical execution to accelerate business growth. Your role involves overseeing organization-wide metrics, managing project progress, driving special assignments, and steering company-wide operations aligned with the CEO’s vision. Success is measured by not only designing strategies but also by mobilizing teams to achieve concrete results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidate management and business KPIs: organize targets across departments, develop KPI dashboards, and visualize progress on financial indicators like revenue, gross profit, ARR, and ROI in real time. Support CEO and CFO in decision-making during management meetings.
  • Lead CEO-directed projects: break down strategic topics into actionable plans, coordinate internal and external stakeholders to complete initiatives swiftly, and oversee prioritization, resource allocation, and task execution.
  • Enhance and systematize operations: identify cross-organizational challenges, design structural solutions, and utilize tools such as Notion and Salesforce for workflow transparency and automation of personalized tasks.
  • Establish company alignment and knowledge integration: design frameworks to communicate CEO’s intentions and business policies across all teams, create progress review mechanisms, institutionalize knowledge sharing, and reporting structures.
  • Promote data-driven management: integrate and analyze various datasets spanning sales, customers, recruitment, operations, and development; develop improvement hypotheses, validate actions and outcomes, and redesign KPIs/OKRs accordingly.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience driving projects directly under top management (CEO/COO/CxO).
  • Proven ability to translate strategic concepts into executable plans that yield results.
  • Expertise in designing and managing KPIs at organizational or business unit levels.
  • Strong leadership skills to engage diverse stakeholders and see challenges through to completion.
  • Adept at rapid PDCA cycles, prioritization, and risk management.
  • Autonomous leadership of cross-functional projects.
  • Capability to distill high-level business challenges into concrete, actionable items.
  • Polished skills in preparing proposals, business plans, and reporting documents of high quality.
  • Strategic thinking to oversee multiple projects and optimize overall outcomes.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in corporate strategy or BizOps in B2B SaaS or startups.
  • Experience in PMO, organization design, or strategy implementation in consulting firms.
  • Knowledge or work experience in HRTech, AI, or talent domains.
  • Familiarity with scaling companies in Series A to C funding stages.
  • Hands-on skills with SQL, BI tools, Notion, and Salesforce.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • Ability to comprehend and articulate the CEO’s thought process and translate it to the operational level systematically.
  • A commitment to completing tasks while establishing sustainable systems.
  • Comfortable balancing a big-picture view and detailed hands-on involvement.
  • A proactive and resilient leader with a strong focus on speed and precision.
  • Skilled at overcoming complex challenges through data and logical thinking.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from 10,000,000 to 20,000,000 JPY, including estimated monthly pay for 45 hours of presumed overtime.

Working Conditions

  • Employment Type: Full-time permanent employee.
  • Location: Primarily based in Tokyo, Japan.
  • Working Hours: Flexible schedule with core hours between 11:00 and 15:00.
  • Leave: Full weekends off (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays, paid annual leave (10 days granted after 6 months), summer vacation, year-end and New Year holidays, and condolence leave.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive social insurance coverage, including health insurance, welfare pension, workers' accident compensation, and employment insurance. Trial period applies.
  • No job transfer requirements.

Additional Information

The workplace embraces remote work and flexible timing as its norm, using open collaboration platforms such as Slack, Notion, and FigJam. The organizational culture is performance-driven, autonomous, and flat, with multiple projects accelerating in parallel through phases beyond product-market fit. The team aims to pioneer the AI agent market standard by fostering a blended human and AI workforce continuously learning and evolving together. This recruitment is handled by an external headhunter, and submitting an application does not guarantee direct company referral. Candidate profiles undergo screening for matching and availability of openings before proceeding to further contact. The role is located at the company’s Tokyo office in Shinagawa-ku.
