HR Business Partner

About the Role

Join Coinbase as an HR Business Partner to help further our mission of expanding economic freedom. This role offers a challenging environment with high standards, remote-first work arrangements, and quarterly in-person collaboration sessions called “surges.” As part of our People team, you will work closely with functional leadership, translating business strategies into actionable people and organizational plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive people programs for assigned groups, including performance management, compensation, talent development, engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Collaborate with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and scalable people strategies aligned with business goals.
• Provide coaching and counsel to leadership on professional growth, career progression, leveling, change management, and handling sensitive employee circumstances.
• Utilize data to generate insights on workforce trends, driving informed recommendations to leadership.
• Develop and implement HR policies focused on compliance and risk mitigation, managing employee relations within global teams.
• Work closely with People Team Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated people programs smoothly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum eight years of experience in talent management, organizational effectiveness, recruiting leadership, talent strategy and operations, consulting, chief of staff roles, or HR, including advising senior leaders on people and organizational strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder dynamics with sound judgment in dealing with performance issues, restructurings, and sensitive personnel matters.
• Proficient in leveraging people data such as engagement surveys, attrition metrics, and performance trends to develop actionable insights influencing leadership decision-making.
• Proven history of designing and executing end-to-end people programs (e.g., performance cycles, talent reviews, organization redesigns) with tangible business results.
• Exemplifies high integrity and discretion when managing confidential information at all organizational levels.
• Experience using generative AI responsibly with human oversight to produce business-ready outcomes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation varies by location, with an annual base salary range from $176,035 to $207,100 USD. Total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
