Role Overview
The Human Resources Business Partner will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition and HRBP. This role carries enterprise-wide accountability and involves collaborating across HR, corporate units, and functional groups to deliver strategic and operational talent solutions aligned with overall and business unit goals. The position covers oversight for British Columbia, Alberta, and North Bay, Ontario regions.
Employment type is permanent, full-time based in Kelowna, British Columbia, with hybrid work arrangements and responsibility for multiple sites across Alberta and Ontario. Relocation assistance is provided for qualified applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic, business-focused HR advice and solutions aligned with Dynacare’s goals.
- Maintain and foster strong relationships with employees across all organizational levels.
- Participate actively on the leadership team as the primary HR partner, providing insights into business challenges and strategic HR initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders on resolving complex employee relations matters.
- Work collaboratively with legal counsel and key stakeholders on risk mitigation and employee relations issues.
- Support talent selection and placement aligned with present and future organizational needs.
- Drive talent management efforts, including retention, development, and external hiring strategies.
- Develop and implement change management and organizational development initiatives for business growth.
- Lead effective workforce planning to assess organizational capacity and capability.
- Promote and reinforce Dynacare’s culture and leadership competencies.
- Manage the performance and compensation cycles through communication, training, calibration, and strategic budgeting.
- Collaborate with HR experts and Centers of Excellence to develop impactful solutions that enhance employee engagement and business outcomes.
- Execute company-wide HR programs such as talent management, engagement, recognition, learning, and rewards, overseeing all aspects from development to roll-out.
- Provide coaching and consultation on HR issues across the employee base.
- Utilize employee engagement insights from surveys and feedback tools to shape HR initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and annual regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement learning and leadership development solutions.
- Contribute to national HR team efforts by sharing best practices and supporting consistent approaches.
Qualifications and Experience
- Thorough knowledge of provincial and federal labor legislation.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management.
- CPHR or CHRP certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of HR generalist or management experience with wide-ranging exposure.
- Proven ability to manage annual budgets.
- Strong capability in interpreting and applying workplace legislation for compliance.
- Project management expertise to advance HR initiatives.
- Proficient interpersonal and consulting skills for diverse organizational interactions.
- Demonstrated influencing and change management capabilities.
- Experienced leadership coach with solid understanding of leadership principles.
- Excellent relationship building, collaboration, and negotiating skills.
Working Conditions and Other Details
- Occasional travel will be required.
- Annual salary range is $100,000 to $120,000, with final offers based on experience and education.
