About the Role
This is a 12-month fixed-term position based in Calgary or Vancouver offering a hybrid work arrangement. Reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition, the Senior Specialist will act as a crucial strategic partner and ambassador of CBC/Radio-Canada. The team is focused on building a qualified, diverse workforce to serve communities nationwide, requiring innovative talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers through all recruitment stages including identifying hiring needs, drafting engaging job descriptions, choosing effective sourcing methods, creating interview guides, participating in selection committees, and managing offer extensions.
- Develop and implement proactive talent attraction plans to maintain a diverse and qualified candidate pipeline using culturally relevant channels, social networks, internal databases, and professional platforms.
- Ensure all recruitment processes strictly comply with collective agreements, company policies, and labor laws.
- Maintain excellent communication with managers and candidates, enhancing the employer brand and promoting recruitment benefits.
- Represent the organization at targeted recruitment events like job fairs and trade shows to broaden outreach.
- Continuously improve recruitment practices by staying abreast of industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership in recruitment processes, including negotiating hire terms and advising clients effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to cultivate trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication abilities in both written and spoken English at an advanced proficiency level.
- Creative and proactive in designing innovative talent sourcing approaches.
- Capability to handle multiple specialized recruitment assignments within a fast-moving and complex environment.
- Strong judgement, meticulous attention to detail, and adherence to confidentiality and procedural standards.
- Experience operating in unionized settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably Workday, plus Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related fields is beneficial.
