About the Role
This position involves overseeing and managing employee leave cases across various U.S. states. The specialist ensures adherence to federal and state leave laws and provides outstanding assistance to employees, managers, and HR teams throughout the entire leave procedure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate different types of leave cases, ensuring strict compliance with FMLA, relevant state leave legislations, and internal company policies.
- Assess leave eligibility, review and validate medical documentation, and administer leave programs within designated timeframes.
- Act as the main contact for all leave-related questions from employees, managerial staff, and HR personnel.
- Assist employees and leaders through the entirety of the leave of absence process by clearly explaining applicable policies and procedures.
- Prepare and dispatch necessary leave documents such as notices, certifications, forms, and related correspondence.
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources, ideally focused on Leave of Absence administration.
- Experience in areas like Disability Management, Benefits Administration, Workers’ Compensation, Healthcare, Medical Billing, Payroll, Safety, or Customer Service will be considered favorable.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as HR Information Systems.
