About the Role
Straive is seeking a motivated and people-focused HR Business Partner (HRBP) Consultant to join our HR team in Chennai. This role is offered as a 6 to 12-month contract and presents an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with prior HR generalist or operations internship experience to gain practical experience in strategic human resources and business partnering. You will collaborate closely with experienced HRBP leaders to support internal business units, focusing on enhancing employee engagement, managing performance cycles, addressing grievances, and implementing effective HR strategies.
Role & Schedule Parameters
- Position Type: Contract (6 - 12 Months)
- Experience Level: Fresher OR up to 1 year of experience (Previous HR Generalist/HRBP internship is highly advantageous)

Key Responsibilities
As a consultant, you will be actively involved in supporting daily HR business partnering operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Employee Engagement: Assisting in the development and execution of employee engagement calendars, organizing town halls, and facilitating team-building activities to cultivate a positive workplace environment.
- Onboarding & Assimilation: Collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, conducting HR orientation sessions, and monitoring 30-60-90 day feedback.
- Performance Management Support: Aiding in the coordination of performance appraisal cycles, ensuring timely completion of reviews, and maintaining accurate records of evaluations.
- Grievance Handling & Employee Relations: Serving as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns, escalating more complex issues to senior HRBPs.
- HR Analytics & Reporting: Maintaining, tracking, and analyzing key HR metrics, such as attrition rates, headcount, and engagement scores, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Policy Compliance & Communication: Supporting the rollout of new HR policies and initiatives, ensuring effective communication across designated business units.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration (BBA/MBA), Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline.
Core Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Familiarity with fundamental HR concepts, including employee lifecycle management, performance management systems, and basic labor law principles (acquired through academic study or prior internships).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations) or Google Workspace.
- A foundational understanding of corporate organizational structures and HR metrics.
Soft Skills & Competencies
- Strong Communication & Empathy: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential for effective employee counseling and engagement. Proficiency in regional languages, such as Tamil, is beneficial for connecting with local employees.
- Interpersonal Agility: High emotional intelligence, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee situations with discretion and maturity.
