Role Purpose
We seek driven publishing professionals to join our expanding team dedicated to managing the peer review process of medical research manuscripts. Ideal candidates are detail-focused, customer-oriented, collaborative, and stay current with the latest developments in medical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively administer the peer review process using platforms like Scholar One Manuscripts™ to meet speed and quality targets.
- Research and identify international subject matter experts suitable as peer reviewers utilizing resources such as PubMed Central.
- Maintain current knowledge of ethical publication standards and internal/external guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with reviewers regarding deadlines and queries.
- Analyze operational data, detect opportunities for process enhancement, and advocate improvements.
- Keep accurate records and update content management systems consistently.
- Coordinate with global editorial teams daily.
- Manage expectations of external stakeholders proficiently.
- Deliver empathetic, high-quality customer service.
- Contribute to department projects as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related fields.
- Familiarity with the journal peer review system.
- Interest and awareness in academic publishing trends.
- Strong command of English grammar and spelling.
- Experience in process-driven workflows and customer-facing roles.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills geared towards outstanding customer service.
- Aptitude for identifying process improvements.
- Persuasion skills and empathy towards diverse perspectives.
- Flexibility in adapting to shifting work plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information
Familiarity with online submission systems like Scholar One Manuscripts™ or Editorial Manager™ is beneficial though comprehensive training will be provided.
